A Family Antiques’ Business

In 1983, David and Anna Maggs took the giant leap of turning their great passion and hobby of Antiques, which they’d acquired in their teens, into a family business. Living in a Cottage in a rural setting in the Home Counties, they were naturally drawn to antique garden tools and objects, cottage furniture, metalware, treen and decorative prints.

Home Counties & South East England

Living in the Home Counties, they have easy access to some of the main parts of the country for selling antique tools, alongside prints, metalware, treen and furniture. Over the last 25 years, they have exhibited their decorative antiques and furniture at hundreds of Antiques Fairs especially in the South East but also all over England and Great Britain. They also had a shop (No. 7) at The Woburn Abbey Antiques Centre since the early 1990's to 2013.   Yew Tree Antiques now sell country and rural antiques at The Antiques Association, 4, Market Place, Woburn, Bedfordshire, MK17 9PZ.

Prints and Printing

David had previously been in the printing trade for 20 years, which started with a four year apprenticeship. He had consequently acquired a great deal of knowledge in printing processes and hence admired the complicated methods and artistry used in producing the many forms of printing pre-1930. Over the years, David & Anna have accumulated a large stock of antique prints on many themes and subjects.

Antique Garden & Farm Tools

Antique Garden, (and some farm) tools have also been a great love. Most tools are individual and all are well made. Tactile and beautiful, each tool can still be used today. As well as tools, they stock watering cans and all manner of objects that can be used as planters or to decorate the cottage or rural garden.

All manner of garden furniture and ornaments, decorative items including tools and farming implements are also in stock
